> Washington County Farm Bureau offers scholarships
Washington County Farm Bureau proudly offers a variety of scholarships to local students planning to continue their education.
High school seniors enrolling in an Oregon school of higher education and planning a career in agriculture, education/teaching, and nursing are eligible for $1,000 scholarships.
There are also two scholarships for students interested in vocational careers, including diesel mechanics, welding, nurse’s aides, teacher’s aides, and nursery and greenhouse.
To qualify, a Washington County student must complete an application form available from their local high school counseling center or from the Washington County Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee (contact info below).
Local students pursuing degrees at Oregon State University’s School of Agriculture are eligible for $3,000 scholarships through Washington County Agriculture Education. Among the requirements are being a junior, senior, or fifth-year student earning a degree in horticulture, soil science, agri-business management, veterinary, animal husbandry, or nursery.
The deadline for all scholarships is April 1, 2014.
