Where the money goes
Annual dues include membership in the American Farm Bureau Federation, and are used to support all county Farm Bureau efforts and operations - as well as OFB programs that directly support and promote the Oregon agriculture industry, benefit rural communities, fund ongoing legislative efforts voted on by members, produce OFB media, pay OFB staff salaries, and much more. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like additional information, (800) 334-6323.
Types of membership
There are different levels of county Farm Bureau membership to suit different levels of involvement.
Voting Members:
These represent actual agriculture producers, members who expect to gross at least $2,500 a year from a farming or ranching operation. Voting members can get involved with their County Farm Bureau, attend meetings, serve on committees, and vote on policies that guide the federation's priorities and work. Besides being eligible for all OFB discount programs, voting members also receive the monthly Oregon Farm Bureau News and the biannual Oregon Agriculture Magazine. The annual dues amount is set by the individual County Farm Bureaus and range between $80 and $100 a year. (The many discount programs available makes it easy to recoup the cost of your OFB dues!)
Supporting Members:
If you aren't a farmer or rancher, but support the work the Farm Bureau does on behalf of agriculture producers around the state, consider becoming a Supporting Member. Supporting Members are also eligible for all OFB discount programs and receive the monthly Oregon Farm Bureau News and the biannual Oregon Agriculture Magazine. Annual dues amounts are set by the individual County Farm Bureaus and range between $80 and $100 a year. (The many discount programs available makes it easy to recoup the cost of your OFB dues!)
Associate Members:
For those interested in supporting OFB on a smaller scale, the Associate Membership is a good option. For $15 a year, Associate Members are eligible for most of the OFB discount programs and receive the biannual Oregon Agriculture Magazine. (The many discount programs available makes it easy to recoup the cost of your OFB dues!)
Student Members:
If you are a full-time student, you could qualify for a reduced membership fee and still be eligible for all OFB discount programs and publications. Some County Farm Bureaus offer a special student rate, while others do not. Contact your local Farm Bureau for information. (For county contact information, call the OFB office at (503) 399-1701.)
