> Clackamas County Farm Bureau offers scholarships
Clackamas County Farm Bureau supports an informed and educated agricultural industry. In 2012, the Farm Bureau will offer about $15,000 in agricultural scholarships.
A number of scholarships ranging between $1,000 and $3,000 per recipient will be awarded to students pursuing a two- or four-year college degree in agriculture or a related field. The scholarships are available to any Clackamas County high school graduate, resident, or prior scholarship recipient.
The application deadline is March 1, 2012.
> Washington County Farm Bureau offers scholarships
Washington County Farm Bureau offers a variety of scholarships to students from Washington County planning to continue their education.
High school seniors planning to study agriculture, nursing, nurse’s aides, education, diesel mechanics, welding, teacher’s aides, or nursery and greenhouse work at an Oregon school are eligible for $1,000 scholarships.
Scholarships of $2,000 are available for students pursuing degrees at Oregon State University School of Agriculture. Among the requirements are being a junior, senior, or fifth-year student earning a degree in horticulture, soil science, agri-business management, veterinary studies, animal husbandry, or nursery.
The application deadline for all scholarships is April 2, 2012.
