Clackamas Co. Farm Bureau offers three scholarships to Clackamas County students. These scholarships are available to any resident of Clackamas County who is interested in pursuing a career in agriculture or one of its related fields. The scholarships are $1000 each. Linn Co. Farm Bureau offers a scholarship opportunity for full-time students who are residents of Linn County and who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture or one of its related fields. High school graduates, returning students, transfer students, and prior recipients are eligible for the $1,000 scholarship. The deadline is May 1

Washington Co. Farm Bureau offers two scholarship programs: one for graduating high school seniors and one for college students enrolled in an agriculture degree program. The high school program awards five $1,000 scholarships to seniors planning careers in agriculture, teaching/education, or nursing at an Oregon accredited school. Two $500 scholarships are offered for students planning careers in welding, diesel mechanics, nursing or teaching aides, nursery and greenhouse, and attending a junior college. To qualify for these awards, a graduating senior must fill out an application and have membership in FFA, 4-H, or be a part of a Farm Bureau member family. Other considerations for an award are financial need, community involvement, and academic standing. Applications are available at western Washington County high school counseling centers or by calling Marie Finegan at (503) 648-9442. Application deadline is May 5.
Local students studying for degrees at a School of Agriculture are eligible for $1,000 scholarships through Washington County Agriculture Education. The requirements include being a junior, senior, or fifth-year student earning a degree in horticulture, soil science, agri-business management, veterinary, animal husbandry, or nursery. Applicants must be a Washington County resident and a graduate from a Washington County high school. It is not necessary to be a member of the Farm Bureau. Application deadline is May 5. Forms are available from Marie Finegan at (503) 648-9442.
Each year the Yamhill County Farm Bureau awards two $1,500 scholarships to full-time students who have completed at least one year of college study directed towards a degree in a field related to agriculture. The students must be graduates of a Yamhill County high school and have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA during their college career.

2008 Ag Day Essay Contest – Deadline: February 15, 2008
The Agriculture Council of America invites youngsters in grades 7-12 to submit original essays of no more than 450 words about the importance of agriculture. The essay contest coincides with National Ag Day in the spring.
