OFB Executive Director, Greg Addington, moderated a Congressional listening session focusing on the Farm Bill with members of the US House Committee on Agriculture. The event was hosted by Linn-Benton Community College and was chaired by Glenn “GT” Thompson, (PA-15) Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture.
The session brought together farmers, ranchers, foresters, producers, agribusiness owners, educators, and others to solicit public feedback – an integral part of the Farm Bill reauthorization process. In addition to Congressman Thompson, other agriculture committee members were on the panel, including Congresswomen Lori Chavez-DeRemer and Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon’s 5th and 6th congressional districts respectively, and Congressman Doug LaMalfa, representing California’s 1st congressional district. Dairy farmer and Congressman David Valadao, of California’s 22nd congressional district, also attended and participated on the panel.
